My Services

Sex Therapy of Arkansas combines traditional and innovative therapeutic approaches to unify and heal the mind, body, and spirit. Some people come into therapy saying and believing that they have no idea what is wrong with them; “I’m just a mess,” they say. Life has become overwhelming, and relationships with loved ones have become destructive. Some individuals express the feeling of depression and anxiety, and these moods may induce a feeling of purposelessness.

With Sex Therapy of Arkansas, we give clients the tools to aspire to hope again. During the first session, we encouraged individuals to list sexual goals and are pleased that there are methods to relieve their agony.   They will learn positive approaches to disengage in the pattern of a lackluster sexual relationship.

Targeted Treatment Areas:

A Mother Connection Support Group: The adjustment to motherhood, whether you are welcoming your first, second, or third child, is always an enormous transition. During this time, mothers are at risk of emotional instability related to hormonal shifts and environmental factors. Mothers need support, and they need to understand that they are not alone. The postpartum period is defined as 0-12 months, and during this precious time period, a mother's life is significantly impacted, and they need a positive environment to receive insight and guidance. This group offers the tools needed to help new mothers overcome the detriments of postpartum depression. There is an emphasis on self-care.

These small groups provide a safe, supportive space to process the transition to motherhood. This is a judgment-free zone, where all the pain and glory of the first year can be shared openly and honestly.  We design this group for moms who are struggling with mood and/or anxiety issues related to perinatal time.

Couples therapy addresses concerns that arise in a relationship regardless of sex and sexuality. It is an opportunity to address sexual problems, issues, explore aspects of the relationship in which you want to experience growth. This modality will allow an opportunity to utilize intimacy and communication skill-building. Couple's work can be a great way to build and develop communication experiences, as well as learn mindfulness interventions and exercises that can be implemented at home; which can increase intimacy and rekindle the connection.

Sex Therapy is a form of talk therapy and is considered a specialty in the field of psychotherapy. As a Sex Therapist in training, I help both individuals and couples struggling with:

  • Low sexual desire or desire differences in a couple.

  • Not able to have an orgasm.

  • Problems with achieving and maintaining an erection.

  • Performance anxiety or lack of confidence.

  • Premature or delayed ejaculation, or not being able to control the timing of ejaculation.

  • Experiencing pain during sex.

  • Impact of infertility, aging, or chronic illness on sex.

You and your partner deserve a satisfying sex life.  It is natural to want a sexual connection. You do not have to convince yourself to just accept things the way they are by rationalizing that there is more to your relationship than sex.

.

Perinatal counseling concentrates on an array of concerns that arise in a person's childbearing years. It is a holistic therapeutic approach for mothers, fathers, co-parents, expecting parents, and anyone considering parenthood. Couples or individual counseling with a perinatal and parenting focus can help you address these issues and gain a deeper connection to yourself and your current or future family needs.

Perhaps you have asked yourself some of these parenting and pregnancy questions or are struggling with these issues:

  • Do I really want to become a parent?

  • I want to have a child, but my partner does not know if he/she wants to.

  • Am I ready to be a mother/father?

  • I worry my childhood trauma will influence my parenting style.

  • How do I make the life-altering decision of whether to become a parent?

  • Should I wait to have a child until after my career is established?

  • We are struggling with infertility issues.

  • Miscarriage and termination.

  • I had an abortion when I was younger and found I am now grieving.

  • Postpartum anxiety, depression, and grief.

  • Dealing with past sexual trauma during pregnancy and birth, and subsequent parenting.

  • LGTQ Parenting and pregnancy issues.

  • Self-care in the midst of being a new mother or father.

What is teletherapy or telemental health?

Using a HIPAA secure platform, it can provide counseling through video with privacy, security, and convenience. All data is encrypted, and client sessions are anonymous and not stored.

There is a growing demand for telehealth/telemental health services for those with difficulty being able to regularly attend in-office appointments. Professionals who can take a break during their workday often use teletherapy but cannot travel to the office, parents who have difficulty finding childcare, or those who are homebound. Teletherapy is also a valuable resource for those unable to find a therapist in their particular area or community.

I am licensed to provide teletherapy for those in the following states: Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, Idaho, Louisiana, and Georgia.
