About the Therapist

Welcome! I am Dr. Anita Martin, Ph.D., LPC-S, NCC, BC-TMH, MAC, SAP, CST. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arkansas, Louisiana, Georgia, Idaho, and Mississippi, an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, and an EMDR Certified Therapist. As a licensed professional counselor, I have over twenty years of experience working with individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment issues, and perinatal/postnatal periods. I can assist you when you feel vulnerable, stressed, overwhelmed, and isolated. You’re not alone. I can help you through these trying times. With my expertise in relationship and sexual health, I help individuals and couples navigate the complexities of their relationships. In addition, I am compassionate about helping individuals struggling with transitions they may be facing.

Assisting individuals to find the language to communicate about sex and make it a satisfying part of their relationship. In therapy, I support clients with getting in touch with their sexuality by exploring and discovering what feels good and help individuals confidently share learned knowledge with their partners. We belong to a culture that promotes female sexual repression, stigma, shame, and guilt. I am committed to helping others break free from the walls of sexual inhibitions and embrace their sexual beings.

In addition, I have worked in various settings, including my private practice, where I have developed my eclectic philosophy in working with clients. I empower clients to achieve their goals on their counseling journey. I firmly believe that balancing mind, body, and soul is the key to healthy living. As a Registered Yoga Teacher, I can assist my clients in integrating self-regulating coping skills, mindfulness practices, and grounding techniques to reduce stress and anxiety.

I aim to help you find happiness, reach your potential, and create a bright future. I look forward to working with you to make the life and relationships you desire.
